Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are in a statistical tie in a hypothetical general election matchup, according to a new national poll.
Clinton tops Trump, 41 percent to 40 percent, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll of likely voters released Wednesday. But the margin of error is plus or minus 3 percentage points. Another 9 percent of likely voters are undecided.

That’s a huge jump for Trump, who trailed Clinton by 13 points in the same poll last week. Trump’s boost possibly comes from the exits of Ted Cruz and John Kasich from the Republican race.
The online poll of 1,289 likely voters was conducted May 6-10.
