Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton hold double-digit leads over their competitors in Nevada’s caucuses, according to a new poll.
Trump garners 33 percent of likely GOP voters in the Silver State, a 13-point lead over his nearest rival, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who has 20 percent, in the new Gravis Marketing poll.
Florida Sen. Marco Rubio follows with 11 percent, with retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson at 8 percent. Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie each have 5 percent.
These results in Nevada mirror the national polls in which Trump holds a decent sized lead, followed by Cruz and Rubio atop the rest of the pack. Nevada’s GOP caucuses are Feb. 23, after voting in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.
For Democrats, Nevada is the third nominating contest.
On the Democratic side, Clinton grabs 50 percent support in the state poll. Sen. Bernie Sanders trails by 23 points with 27 percent of the vote. However, 22 percent are still unsure who they support.
The survey of 406 likely GOP caucusgoers and 326 likely Democratic caucusgoers was conducted Dec. 23–27 with a margin of error of plus or minus five percentage points for both parties.
