The Maryland Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation has named Comcast?s Maryland-Delaware operation as its first Media Partner of the Year.
“We are very fortunate to have Comcast as a partner in our community outreach efforts,” said Becky Maude, the foundation?s executive director. “Comcast has been gracious with lending their media expertise, time and talents toward increasing awareness of the life-debilitating issues surrounding juvenile diabetes.”
The foundation created the Media Partner Award as a way to recognize media partners that lend their support to raising awareness of juvenile diabetes and promoting the organization?s overall missions.
During the past year, Comcast created a five-minute video profile of the foundation to educate the public about juvenile diabetes and to foster new funding opportunities for the organization. It also was the media sponsor of the foundation?s 2006 Promise Gala.
Comcast has already signed on to be the media sponsor for the organization?s 2006 Walk to Cure Diabetes in October.
