If Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein seemed insincere when he apologized on Thursday for decades of reported sexual misconduct, subsequent remarks from supposed associates should remove all doubt.

In Weinstein’s world, the real enemy here is not his allegedly gropy hands or his leveraging power for sex, but the political right-wing, which is supposedly conspiring to take him down, according to people allegedly familiar with his thinking.
