South Carolina Republican Sens. Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott easily won re-election Tuesday, even though they took different paths to do so.
CBS News called the races for Graham and Scott soon after polls closed at 7 p.m. in the deep-red state.
Graham, a hawkish Republican, has devoted extensive effort to placating the Tea Party wing of the Republican Party, which has questioned his conservative credentials. Scott, who was appointed to fill the seat vacated by Republican firebrand Jim DeMint, has managed to bridge the divide between the establishment and Tea Party factions of the party during his short time in office.
