National Debt Hits $15,000,000,000,000.00

The National Debt Clock now shows the national debt of the United States of America is higher than $15,000,000,000,000.00. According to the White House, when President Obama was elected — just three years ago — the national debt was less than $10 trillion (see table S-9 on p. 134).  At a campaign event in Hawaii on Monday, Obama said, “We knew it wouldn’t come easy, we knew it wasn’t going to come quickly, but three years later, because of what you did in 2008, we’ve already started to see what change looks like.”
