Ben Carson’s work on Donald Trump’s vice presidential selection team is done.
The retired neurosurgeon and former 2016 Republican presidential candidate now has a new assignment: preparing for Trump’s Thursday meeting with House Speaker Paul Ryan.
All this is according to comments made by Carson’s business manager Armstrong Williams.
“What Trump wanted from Carson were names of who he would recommend for a potential candidate. He was among several other people making recommendations,” Williams told the Daily Beast. “Once those names were submitted, they decided to have [Corey] Lewandowski head up.”
Williams reprinted the article with an image of Carson reminiscent of a campaign brochure.
The comments came the same day as reports that campaign manager Corey Lewandowski was running the vice presidential vetting team, not Carson.
