President Trump told the family of Marjory Stoneman Douglas senior Meadow Pollack, who died during the shooting at the Parkland, Fla., high school in February, that he and first lady Melania Trump were “resolved to confront the evil” that killed her.

“We will not forget her life, and we are resolved to confront the evil that so senselessly took her from us,” Trump wrote in a letter to the family, according to an image of the note shared by Meadow Pollack’s brother Hunter Pollack on Twitter Monday.

“Thank you @realDonaldTrump for opening the Whitehouse (sic) to my family with open arms. Was great talking about my sisters beauty , and school security with you. Thank you Mr. President,” he wrote.
