Man gets life in prison for 2 bank robberies

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — A Rock Island man has been sentenced to life in prison for two armed robberies.

U.S. Attorney Jim Lewis of the central district of Illinois says that federal Judge Sara Darrow found the life term was appropriate because the 28-year-old Dixon has two previous state robbery convictions.
