Cheadle: Should Have Shot More of Flick in D.C.

‘Talk To Me’

Wednesday night marked the special screening of “Talk to Me,” Don Cheadle’s new movie based on the life of Ralph Waldo “Petey” Greene Jr., the late D.C. broadcast personality.

How did they like filming on location?

“I only wish we could have filmed more of the movie here,” Cheadle told Yeas & Nays. Despite his political activism on Darfur, which has brought him here several times recently, he said, “I don’t get to come to D.C. a lot. … I have two young kids at home.”

D.C. native and co-star Taraji P. Henson (“Hustle & Flow”) said they shot most of the film in Canada. She said she only comes back twice a year, although she added that she brought a lot of that “D.C. flavor” to the film.

“The Apprentice’s” Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth, a former Clinton White House aide and 10-year D.C. resident, was also spotted on the red carpet.

Also in attendance was director Kasi Lemmons, Greene’s friend Dewey Hughes and screenwriter Michael Genet.
