Donald Trump Jr. is planning to release a new book about former Vice President Joe Biden during the week of the Republican convention.
The president’s son told Axios that the book, Liberal Privilege: Joe Biden and the Democrat’s Defense of the Indefensible, will be released at the end of August. He also said that he was able to complete the book in quarantine since his girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle, tested positive for the coronavirus.
Thrilled to announce that during the last few months of quarantine, I’ve been working on a new book, LIBERAL PRIVILEGE!

A spokesman for Trump Jr. confirmed the Axios report to the Washington Examiner.
Trump Jr. is working with Sergio Gor (a former aide to Sen. Rand Paul who has worked on several conservative bestsellers and is now the chief of staff of the Trump Victory Finance Committee) on the book, and their partnership has been ongoing for months.
Trump Jr. also credited Guilfoyle for helping with the book, and she will read it for the audio version.
“That’s how we came up with the idea for her to do the audio book. We would take turns reading the chapters out loud for flow. … Love in a time of COVID,” Trump Jr. said about his girlfriend.
A spokesman for the Biden campaign said the book will be “filled with disgusting lies.”
TJ Ducklo, Biden’s national press secretary, said, “Is there anything more on brand than Donald Trump Jr. trying to cash in on a book filled with disgusting lies and smears about Joe Biden?”
The Republican National Committee has struggled with the logistics of holding a convention during the coronavirus pandemic. The RNC originally planned to host the event in North Carolina, but it decided to have Trump accept his nomination in Jacksonville, Florida, after Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper said he could not guarantee that social distancing policies would be dropped in North Carolina by the time of the convention.
As the pandemic continues, it’s unclear what the convention will look like in Florida, and a growing number of GOP senators plan to skip the event. Campaign officials are reportedly considering an outdoor venue for the convention.
The Democrats plan to hold a pared-back convention in Milwaukee in mid-August.
