VOTE: Trump hanging on in Musk’s Twitter reinstatement survey

After an initial 60%-40% in support of reinstating former President Donald Trump to Twitter, the survey from new owner Elon Musk on the issue has tightened significantly.

In just updated numbers, 52% want Trump back on the politically chatty social media platform to 47% who don’t.

Musk posted the survey last night after he made sure some other previously banned users were brought back. Supporters of Trump have been hoping he would return to Twitter, even though he and his team have launched a competitor, Truth Social.

“Vox Populi, Vox Dei,” Musk tweeted last night, in a phrase that suggests “the voice of the people is the voice of God.”

The poll is scheduled to close Saturday night. As of 8 a.m. Saturday, some 10 million had voted.
