Boy, 4, drowns in ATV crash
A 4-year-old boy died after the all-terrain vehicle he was driving overturned into a creek and pinned him under water, Frederick County Sheriff’s Office said. Fordham Lee Poffenbarger died Sunday after the Saturday evening accident on his family’s property near Middletown. Investigators said the 4-year-old had been riding the ATV that day and took the 210-pound vehicle out for a last spin without his family knowing. Maryland has no age limit for operating ATVs on private property. No charges are expected.
Teen shoots at harassers, police say
Montgomery County police arrested a 16-year-old male accused of shooting at three men who harassed a teenage girl. Police said three men, all in their 30s, got into an argument with a 17-year-old girl after one of the men tried to block her from leaving an apartment building in the Rosemary Hills area of Silver Spring. About 15 minutes later, a male teenager showed up and shot at the men. Nobody was injured. Joel M. Moreno, 16, was charged as an adult with three counts of attempted first-degree murder.

Ex-transit manager charged
Alexandria police charged a former city transit department employee with embezzling $30,000. Jean Stokes, 50, resigned from her position as manager of the Old Town Transit Shop on Jan. 25. Stokes allegedly admitted the crime and turned herself in to police on Sunday.
Body found in Anacostia
D.C. police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in the Anacostia River. Police identified the man as Pierre Williams, of Washington. He was discovered around 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Police said there was no signs of foul play, but an autopsy is being conducted.
