Sometimes lawmaking is a messy business. We hear that freshman D.C. Council member Tommy Wells got an earful Friday from Ram Uppuluri, an aide on the Committee on Human Services, which Wells chairs.
Apparently, the Ward 6 member hadn’t informed Uppuluri about some of the legislative moves he was making, which caused Uppuluri to shout, “[Expletive, expletive, expletive] Tommy, I’m your chief of staff!”

For his part, Wells stayed cool, saying only, “I don’t think you all understand the budget.”
Somehow we don’t think that smoothed things over.
