What do Spider-Man, Jabba the Hutt, and Bruce Wayne have in common? They are all listed among the student research interns for this year’s Economic Report of the President.
Some of the interns listed near the end of the behemoth 711-page report issued Tuesday donned pseudonyms in a nod to the “invaluable help with research projects, day-to-day operations, and fact-checking” they did over the course of the past year. The report issued Tuesday includes data on the performance of the U.S. economy and President Trump’s economic plans.

And while Batman and Captain America might not really have been the ones putting in the long hours, the Council of Economic Advisers said its interns are certainly heroes to the organization.
“Thank you for noticing, our interns are indeed super heroes! We’ve thought so all along, but we knew it’d take a little more to get them the attention they deserve. They have made significant contributions to the Economic Report of the President and do so every day at CEA,” the CEA tweeted Tuesday.
“Who says economics has to be a dismal science,” it adds.

The 2019 Economic Report of the President mirrors the credits in last year’s report, which thanked “Star Trek” characters James T. Kirk and Jean-Luc Picard as contributors.
