Woman charged in stabbing at Occupy Baltimore A woman has been charged with assault in a stabbing at the Occupy Baltimore site.

Twenty-three-year-old Desiree Nicholson of Halethorpe, Md., has been charged with assault in the incident early Sunday at the encampment at the Inner Harbor, Baltimore police said Monday. Nicholson was being held Monday on a $75,000 bond.

Nicholson kicked another woman in the stomach and stabbed her in the arm and thigh with a knife, police said. The women were arguing over the care of Nicholson’s cat.

The victim was in stable condition.

Man dies from injuries in Fairfax hit-and-run

A man struck by a car in a hit-and-run crash on Nov. 25 in the Hybla Valley area has died.

Fairfax County police said Monday that 45-year-old Edin Cruz, of Alexandria, died from injuries suffered when he was hit near Richmond Highway and Lockheed Boulevard at about 2 a.m.

The vehicle that hit him fled from the scene. Police believe the car was a red Jeep Grand Cherokee or similar sports-utility vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 703-681-2131 or Crime Solvers at 866-411-TIPS (8477).

Man convicted in P.G. slaying

A man has been convicted of first-degree felony murder in a December 2009 shooting death in Prince George’s County.

A jury found 31-year-old Jose Odem, of Fort Washington, guilty in the slaying of Leland Hunt, according to the State’s Attorney’s Office.

Odem shot and robbed Hunt to get into his Camp Springs apartment, then stole electronics and high-end clothing, authorities say. Odem’s Mercedes was captured on security footage from Hunt’s apartment complex, prosecutors said.
