Thousands of Maricopa ballots placed in Box 3

“Those will go through the quality assurance check and those will be tabulated throughout the week,” Gates said on Wednesday. He also said ballots always are going into Box 3 for votes that “are not read into the tabulator,” but this year had “a higher percentage than normal.”

Republicans sued on Tuesday to have polls hours extended by three hours because of the tabulator problems, but were denied by a judge.
