It’s the countdown to chaos. Congress just narrowly avoided a government shutdown mere hours before their midnight deadline. However this only delayed the possible shutdown by 45 days. Congress must now reach a funding agreement by Nov. 16, 2023.
The White House openly supports the right to strike. Whether or not those strikers should get unemployment, is another question. Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) vetoed a bill over giving striking workers unemployment benefits, part of a wider pivot to the center sparking rumors of a presidential campaign.
A Historic healthcare strike could start Wednesday. The Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions is poised for a three-day strike. With more than 75,000 healthcare workers across five states and Washington, D.C this would be the largest healthcare worker walkout in U.S. history.
