Who: Texas Department of Transportation
What: After spending $10 million to get a segment of the Grand Parkway shovel-ready, the state is considering reallocating $181 million in federal stimulus funding because of the delays in obtaining federal permits that “might never be issued.”
Why it’s an outrage: Federal money was assigned to a particular highway, but thanks to cumbersome environmental regulations and the prospect of litigation, it will fund other trivial projects.
Where to vent: Call the director of government and public affairs at the TxDOT at 512-463-1620.
