A 13-year-old boy was charged with using a laser pointer to blind pilots of a Maryland State Police helicopter.
Two pilots and a paramedic were training over Baltimore County at around 8:30 p.m. Sunday when the cockpit became illuminated by a green light, troopers said. The pilots were momentarily blinded, recovered and were able to see where the laser light had originated. Police went to a residence in Parkville and the 13-year-old suspect ran but was later caught.
The boy was charged with reckless endangerment and misuse of a laser light. He was released to his parents.
