Political newcomer Vivek Ramaswamy continues to surge in the 2024 race at the expense of all but one challenger, former President Donald Trump, who has expanded his lead to a massive 47 points.
The Daily Signal reported Wednesday morning that Trump is backed by 60% of GOP primary voters in a new RMG Research survey. And it’s not an outlier. Trump’s average support in polls is 54.3%, and a June CBS poll had it at 61%.

While it is good news for the former president, the survey conducted by Scott Rasmussen also confirmed businessman Ramaswamy’s momentum in the race. At 13% support, it is the highest recorded and the latest to show his surge a week from the Fox-hosted Republican presidential debate.
And it was the latest to show that Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) is spiraling down. His support in the survey was an anemic 8%, 7 points off his second-place standing two weeks ago. Other candidates, including former Vice President Mike Pence and former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, continue to be stalled.
The survey was one of the last taken before Trump was indicted for a fourth time, though he has shown remarkable political resilience with each.

Daily Signal editor Rob Bluey wrote in his analysis, “Among those who support Trump, 83% said they were ‘absolutely certain’ they would vote for him. By comparison, 38% of DeSantis supporters expressed a similar sentiment, with 62% declaring that something could change their mind about the Florida governor.”
