Florida guy impersonates U.S. Marshal to get discounted donuts

Guess a Florida man really needed some doughnuts on the cheap last week when he tried to impersonate a U.S. Marshal in order to get a discount at Dunkin’ Donuts — and wound up in jail.

Charles Barry, a 48-year-old husband and father, drove up to a Pasco County Dunkin’ Donuts and pretended to be a U.S. Marshal. He flashed a badge and loaded gun while demanding the drive-thru attendant give him a discount.

Barry first tried his stunt on Nov. 6. A suspicious employee informed the store manager, who then wrote down the license plate number of Barry’s vehicle when he returned the next day, according to the Tampa Fox News affiliate. The manager then informed the authorities.

Pasco Sheriff’s Office deputy arrested Barry and confiscated the badge, which belonged to his deceased father, who was a cop in New Jersey. Barry is charged with impersonating law enforcement and improper exhibition of a firearm. Deputies believe the gun was loaded during the incidents, and Barry has since lost his conceal and carry permit.

Earlier this year, a crazy Dunkin’ customer at another location recorded herself yelling and cussing at employees for not giving her a receipt.
