A Black Lives Matter activist with roughly a half-million followers on social media warned that “all hell” will break loose if former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin is not convicted of killing George Floyd.
“If George Floyd’s murderer is not sentenced, just know that all hell is gonna break loose,” model and social media influencer Maya Nichols posted on TikTok this week. “Don’t be surprised when buildings are on fire. Just sayin’.”

Chauvin’s trial is underway in Minneapolis, where he has been charged with two counts of murder and one count of manslaughter from the death of George Floyd in May of last year.
Prosecutors are attempting to make the case that Chauvin “betrayed his badge” and used unnecessary force to subdue Floyd, who was resisting arrest after attempting to use a counterfeit $20 bill.
Chauvin’s legal team insists that he acted appropriately and pointed out the high level of the synthetic opioid fentanyl in Floyd’s system, which they say caused a fatal heart attack.
