Man arrested for allegedly storming Capitol in fur, horns, and face paint won’t eat nonorganic food in jail: Report

The man who was arrested for allegedly storming the Capitol “dressed in horns, a bearskin headdress, red, white and blue face paint, shirtless” apparently hasn’t been satisfied with the menu in jail.

Jacob Anthony Chansley, the 32-year-old Arizonan who has been identified as the horned demonstrator, hasn’t eaten since he was taken into custody because the facility he’s being held at has not provided him with organic food, according to his lawyer and his mother.

“He gets very sick if he doesn’t eat organic food — literally will get physically sick,“ said Martha Chansley, his mother, according to ABC15.

His lawyer told the judge in court on Monday that Chansley hadn’t eaten because of his restrictive diet, and Judge Deborah Fine responded to that information by calling it “deeply concerning,” and she ordered his lawyer to work with the U.S. Marshal’s Office on the matter.

“We will abide by the judge’s order,” David Gonzales, U.S. marshal for the District of Arizona, said.

The Trump-supporting QAnon follower, also known as Jake Angeli, was taken into custody on Saturday. Chansley was charged with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority and with violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.

The chaos at the Capitol led to five deaths, countless injuries, the destruction of federal property, a lockdown of the Capitol, and dozens of arrests, but it did not stop Congress from certifying the Electoral College for Biden.

Nearly 70 people have been arrested in connection to Wednesday’s events, and law enforcement officials are asking the public for help in identifying other suspects. Federal prosecutor Ken Kohl also announced charges for several people on Friday, including a man photographed in Pelosi’s office, a man from Alabama who was allegedly found with guns and Molotov cocktails in his truck, and a delegate in the West Virginia state legislature who has since resigned.
