More people are convinced that having and requiring a “passport” that proves the owner has been vaccinated against COVID-19 is the key to opening the economy and getting back to normal.
A broad survey for the digital drugstore USARX.com said that 60% back the “vax passport,” including 49.8% of skeptical Republicans.
Even more, 68% said that it would be “appropriate” to require a passport before letting people join public activities.
The survey is the latest to show a shift in the public’s attitude toward a vaccine passport. The number of vaccine passport supporters has increased as the number of people being vaccinated has increased.
Among the many questions asked and answered by the survey, wary respondents said that they would be more likely to get the vaccine if a requirement for a passport was widespread. Some 77%, for example, said that they would be concerned about being locked out of events if they didn’t have one.
“Many were quick to admit they would get a vaccine so they could recoup some normalcy in their life,” read the analysis provided to Secrets.
“They also wondered if they would be much more confined in terms of living freely, compared to those who were vaccinated and had a passport to prove it,” it added.
