A fiery, reactive debate quickly began on Twitter after television cameras caught actor and comedian Vince Vaughn seated inside a private booth with President Trump and first lady Melania Trump at the college football championship game.
“I’m very sorry to have to share this video with you. All of it, every part of it,” journalist Timothy Burke said, tweeting out footage of the exchange in New Orleans on Monday night.

Burke said in a separate tweet that his initial tweet was about the crowd singing Sweet Caroline during the game, which can be heard in the clip.
“I don’t need a Wedding Crashers sequal [sic] anymore,” another writer and comedian commented.

Many conservative media pundits came to the actor’s defense, poking fun at critics of Trump for expressing outrage over the incident.

Vaughn is an outspoken libertarian and supported Sen. Rand Paul for president in 2016. His exchange with Trump follows Ellen DeGeneres facing backlash for sitting with former President George W. Bush at a Dallas Cowboys football game in October.
