- The Marines are, for the first time, dedicating one of their famous summer military parades to Navy chaplains. The special May 19 parade at the Marine Barracks was a personal decision on the part of Commandant Gen. David Berger. The guests of honor and speakers include Rabbi Arnold Resnicoff; Dianna Pohlman Bell, the first female chaplain in the Navy; and retired Capt. Mae Pouget, representing her late father, Chaplain Thomas David Parham, the first black man to reach the rank of captain in the Navy. …
