Trump warns Russia: Missiles ‘will be coming’ after Syria’s chemical attack

President Trump warned Russia Wednesday that it should not have partnered with “gas killing animal” Bashar Assad in Syria, and promised that missiles would be fired at Syria following a lethal chemical attack he says was carried out by the Assad regime.

“Russia vows to shoot down any and all missiles fired at Syria. Get ready Russia, because they will be coming, nice and new and “smart!” You shouldn’t be partners with a Gas Killing Animal who kills his people and enjoys it!”

Over the weekend, a deadly chemical attack was carried out on rebel-held city of Douma, Syria that killed at least 40 and caused 500 others to seek medical attention or be hospitalized.

Trump responded by saying the attack was “mindless” and there would be a “big price to pay” from those involved with the attack.

Moscow has maintained that it was not involved with the attack, and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said it was not “logical” for the U.S. to blame Russia for the chemical attack in Syria.

The Trump administration continues to weigh how and when to strike Syria, and is working with Britain and France on ways to coordinate a strike.
