Philly mayor dances to celebrate ‘sanctuary city’ case win against Trump: WATCH

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney did a dance Wednesday with his chief of staff to celebrate the city being a “sanctuary city” thanks to a ruling against the Trump administration.

Federal Judge Michael Baylson ruled that President Trump cannot cut off grants to the city over the way they handle illegal immigrants, causing Kenney, a Democrat, to dance in a celebration on camera.

“Needless to say, I think @janeslusser and @PhillyMayor are pretty excited about today’s ruling affirming Philadelphia as a Sanctuary City,” Kenney’s deputy chief of staff Steve Preston posted to Twitter.

In the video Kenney is singing, “We are a sanctuary city,” before high-fiving his chief of staff.

Fox News reported that Baylson, who was appointed by former President George W. Bush, wrote in his opinion that both Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ statements “asserting that immigrants commit more crimes than native-born citizens, are inaccurate as applied to Philadelphia, and do not justify the imposition of these… conditions.”

So-called “sanctuary cities” claim to provide asylum for illegal immigrants and many have rules preventing cooperation with federal immigration enforcement officers.
