Women’s March chair: We will do ‘everything we can’ to keep Kavanaugh off the Supreme Court

The leader of the Women’s March said over the weekend that her organization is going to do everything it can over the next week to keep Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh out of the U.S. Supreme Court.

“Brett Kavanaugh was disqualified before Christine Ford came out with her allegations and we still think he’s disqualified and we’re going to do everything we can to keep him off the Supreme Court,” Linda Sarsour told CNN Saturday.

Sarsour said the Women’s March and its participants are “enraged” by the Senate Judiciary Committee’s decision to move Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Senate floor after hearing testimony from both Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford, the woman accusing him of sexual assault.

The Women’s March announced over the weekend that the third annual march would take place Jan. 19, 2019 in Washington, D.C. The first march took place in D.C. in 2017 a day after President Trump inauguration.

Ford and two other women have accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault and misconduct when he was a teenager. Ford appeared before the Judiciary Committee Friday and testified to her allegations.

The 51-year-old northern California professor alleged that Kavanaugh was drunk and groped her at a small high school gathering 36 years ago.

Kavanaugh denied the allegations and those identified as being present at the get together say they have no recollection of the gathering or the incident in question.
