Former New England Patriots star Tom Brady has signed a contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The six-time Super Bowl champion quarterback’s decision had been reported for a couple days, but the move was made official on Friday.
Brady, 42, made the announcement on social media.
“I’m starting a new football journey and thankful for the [Buccaneers] for giving me an opportunity to do what I love to do,” he said on Instagram. “I look forward to meeting all my new teammates and coaches and proving to them that they can believe and trust in me … I have always believed that well done is better than well said, so I’m gonna [sic] not gonna say much more — i’m just gonna get to work!”
Brady’s contract with the Buccaneers will pay him $30 million annually, according to the NFL Network. ESPN reported he was given a two-year contract.
Brady left the New England Patriots organization after spending two decades with the team that drafted him in 1999.
