CNN and MSNBC dominate ratings after Election Day coverage, leaving Fox News in third place

Both CNN and MSNBC beat Fox News in ratings the Saturday after Election Day when major networks called the election for Joe Biden.

CNN came in the top spot for viewers on Saturday, with 4.2 million viewers, according to Nielsen, and MSNBC came in second place with 3 million. Fox News placed third, with 1.73 million viewers.

Additionally, CNN came in the top spot in viewers for Biden and presumed Vice President-elect Kamala Harris’s prime-time address on Saturday, garnering 13.6 million viewers. MSNBC came in second place with 8.52 million viewers.

The news comes after Fox News crushed all competition in ratings on election night, snagging nearly 14 million viewers and becoming the most-watched election night coverage in cable news history.

Fox News joined CNN and MSNBC on Saturday in declaring Biden the victor of the presidential election. The president’s allies and supporters, however, have signaled their disapproval with Fox News in recent days.

President Trump’s supporters were seen chanting “Fox News sucks” last week after the network called Arizona for Biden.

Additionally, Fox News’s Neil Cavuto cut from a press conference on Monday with White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany regarding updates on Trump’s legal battles and voter fraud allegations, prompting media outlets to report on a Fox divergence from Trump after the election.

“Woah, woah, woah, I just think we have to be very clear. She’s charging the other side is welcoming fraud and welcoming illegal voting. Unless she has more details to back that up, I can’t in good countenance continue showing you this,” Cavuto said after showing a few moments of McEnany speaking.
