Trump says he wants Supreme Court to end Obamacare and promises plan after

President Trump said he will release his healthcare plan after the Supreme Court rules on Obamacare.

Trump made the remarks during a 60 Minutes interview posted on the president’s Facebook page Thursday.

Trump has said multiple times that he would release a healthcare plan, but so far, he has failed to do so. Democrats argue that his reelection would mean the end of Obamacare and the loss of protections for people with preexisting health conditions that prevent them from accessing insurance.

Stahl asked Trump about why he hadn’t yet developed a plan.

“It is developed. It is fully developed. It is going to be announced very soon, when we see what happens with Obamacare,” Trump replied. “It will be much less expensive than Obamacare, which is a disaster, and it will take care of people with preexisting conditions.”

Stahl pressed the president on that last point, saying, “If the Supreme Court finishes Obamacare, there will be all these people stranded.”

“We will make a deal, and we will have a great healthcare plan with a less expensive — a much better plan,” Trump responded.

When Stahl asked how they would be protected, Trump said, “Leslie, people with preexisting conditions will be always protected, always.”

Trump added that he hoped the Supreme Court would end Obamacare.

The exchange was often contentious. Toward the end of it, an aide stepped in to say that there were only five minutes left before Vice President Mike Pence was to be interviewed.

At that point, Trump ended the interview, saying, “I think we have enough of an interview here. That’s enough.”
