A 12th suspicious package was mailed Friday to the New York City offices of CNN and addressed to former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, the network reported Friday morning.
The package was recovered at a post office in New York City, according to the Associated Press.

Since Monday, nearly a dozen prominent Democrats and critics of President Donald Trump have been sent suspicious packages in the mail, many of which contained potentially explosive devices.
None of the devices detonated, except for under the direction of authorities, and there have been no injuries or deaths as a result of the packages, but the scare has shaken both the political world and the media.
Clapper is an analyst at CNN and has been critical of President Trump, in August saying he “doesn’t have control” of his administration anymore.

CNN received a similar package on Wednesday, addressed to former CIA Director John Brennan, prompting an evacuation of the building.
In a statement Friday, CNN President Jeff Zucker said all mail to CNN domestic offices is being screened at off-site facilities, “so this package would NOT have come directly to the Time Warner Center, even if it hadn’t been intercepted first.”
Clapper left the government at the end of the Obama administration.
