Former Trump economic adviser Gary Cohn said Thursday that Peter Navarro’s churlish remarks about Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau were “inappropriate and uncalled for.”
“It’s just inappropriate and uncalled for,” Cohn told the Washington Post. “And it’s not his job.”

Over the weekend Navarro, the director of the White House National Trade Council and economic adviser to Trump, said that there was a “special place in hell” for Trudeau.
His comments came after Trump and Trudeau traded barbs over over disagreements pertaining to trade after they met at the G-7 summit in Quebec.
Navarro apologized for those comments on Tuesday.
