Kelly Loeffler calls liberal media ‘fact-free’

She’s rich and well connected, especially in the financial world. Her husband is the chairman of the New York Stock Exchange.

So, when reports emerged that Georgia Sen. Kelly Loeffler moved early with stock trades to profit off the coronavirus crisis, the usual reaction would have been that it was a coincidence because she likely had her equities in a blind trust due to her and her husband’s positions.

But it wasn’t. The media went after the newest Republican senator, jeopardizing her position and reelection campaign. She explained and explained about blind trusts, yet, she said, the facts “were counter to the narrative the media wanted.”

After a quick investigation, she and two of three other senators were exonerated of improper pre-pandemic stock trades. “The facts today are the same as they always have been,” she said.

Now, Loeffler is “fighting back.” She told us that she “knew I was going to be attacked” by the media because of her conservative credentials. But Loeffler didn’t realize how anti-conservative the Washington press corps is.

“What I think is troubling is that it is completely fact-free,” she said, adding, “We have to fight back against this. … I’m not going to be pushed around because I’m a conservative woman.”
