SEE IT: TV anchor Heather Kovar speaks out after suspension for slurred speech

Heather Kovar, the television news anchor who was suspended from CBS6 in Albany, New York, after she slurred her way through an evening broadcast, has reassured supporters that she is well.

Kovar shared a post from her fan club and said, “The Fan Club always brings a smile to my face.”

Fans had posted a video from a 2012 story in which Kovar talked with an NBA referee about staying in shape.

The post drew overwhelming support as fans checked in to inquire if she was doing OK.

“Yes, I had previously put in my resignation since my contract was up July 31st. Details to come,” Kovar told one Facebook user.

Kovar’s post and comments are her first public statements since being suspended on July 11.

“So nice seeing you post here again Heather,” one viewer and fan commented. “So glad to know [you’re] ok. It isn’t the same weekend mornings without you though, miss seeing your smiling face on Saturday and Sunday.”

Others encouraged Kovar to return to her former stomping grounds in Texas.

“Come to Dallas Tx we need your great smile and laughter down here,” a supporter said.

Kovar replied that she did miss “the big D,” being an alumnus of Southern Methodist University.
