For nearly 10 months and counting, millions of school children in our nation’s capital are, well, not going to school. A summer of race riots and lockdowns (that didn’t keep us from having the 8th highest pandemic deaths per capita) have corroded Washington’s economy, with vaunted institutions such as the U Street Music Hall, the Eighteenth Street Lounge, the Brixton, the Codmother, and Post Pub all shuttered for good. All of this has given the district an unemployment rate nearly 2 points higher than our falling national average of 6.9% and has made the city fatter, poorer, and riddled with mental health woes and domestic disputes.

So, Mayor Muriel Bowser thought that this would be a nice time to go party in the streets of Delaware after Joe Biden was declared the winner of the election. Bowser, who has been about as subtle as a gun as she auditions for a Biden administration job, has recently locked down free travel from all but four states: Maryland, Virginia, Hawaii, and Vermont. Notice how Delaware is not one of those states.
