President Trump wished first lady Melania Trump a happy birthday during a phone interview with “Fox & Friends” on Thursday.
The first lady is celebrating her 48th birthday.
“I said, let’s do it on Melania’s birthday,” Trump told the morning show hosts of his interview. “Happy birthday, Melania.”
When asked what he got her for the special day, Trump said he didn’t have time to put much thought into a gift.
“I better not get into that because I may get into trouble. Maybe I didn’t get her so much,” he explained. “I got her a beautiful card. I’m very busy to be running out looking for presents. I got her a beautiful card and some beautiful flowers.”
Melania Trump’s communications director Stephanie Grisham told the Washington Examiner that the first lady “will spend her birthday with her family at home tonight.”
