Buzz: Ivanka for president, Trump beating Biden on Facebook, another Electoral College win?

Expectations are surging inside White House and GOP circles that Ivanka Trump will begin exploring her chances for a run for public office, possibly for president or even the New York seat held by Sen. Chuck Schumer, the Senate minority leader.

Many insiders see Trump as an able and steady force who has made a name for herself in championing female entrepreneurs, running the president’s jobs agenda, and helping with criminal justice reform.

But some say she is a bit too laid back to run the type of bruising campaigns typical of New York. For what it’s worth, her mother said this month that she’d make a good president. And there have been several stories teasing her potential presidential bid and rivalry with Donald Trump Jr.’s much rumored presidential aspirations. …

Frank Sesno, the former CNN anchor and George Washington University professor, drew our attention to the NYU Ad Observatory. It said that President Trump has outspent Biden 2-1. Why Facebook? The latest is Rich Thau, president of Engagious, which has been conducting a swing voter project. This week, in reviewing the latest from Wisconsin, Thau said, “I think Biden wins the popular vote.” And he told us that it is “not a radical idea,” noting that FiveThirtyEight said there is an 86% chance Biden wins the popular vote. …
  • White House chief of staff Mark Meadows is on the same page as President Trump on the issue of masks. He told a few reporters last week, “I think it’s an extra precaution and it’s good, but it doesn’t necessarily make sure that you’re not going to come down with COVID.” …
