Former FBI director James Comey said Tuesday that it’s “not OK” for President Trump to threaten jail time to private citizens on Twitter, like he did to Comey over the weekend.
“The president of the United States just said that a private citizen should be jailed. And I think the reaction of most of us was, ‘meh, that’s another one of those things,’” Comey told NPR’s “Morning Edition” radio show Tuesday. “This is not normal. This is not OK. There’s a danger that we will become numb to it, and we will stop noticing the threats to our norms.”
Over the weekend, Trump called Comey a “liar” and a “leaker,” and called for him to be jailed for mishandling classified information.
The big questions in Comey’s badly reviewed book aren’t answered like, how come he gave up Classified Information (jail), why did he lie to Congress (jail), why did the DNC refuse to give Server to the FBI (why didn’t they TAKE it), why the phony memos, McCabe’s $700,000 & more?

Comey has been on a media blitz since his first interview since being fired by Trump last year aired Sunday, and he repeated that he believed Trump’s comments over the weekend were inappropriate when he appeared on Good Morning America Tuesday.
“First of all, he is just making stuff up,” Comey said about Trump’s accusations that he lied to Congress under oath and leaked classified information. “But most importantly, the president of the United States is calling for the imprisonment of a private citizen, as he’s done for a whole lot of people that criticize him, that is not acceptable in this country.”
