The Heritage Foundation has wasted no time in becoming the top conservative influence on homeland security and immigration policy, today announcing that it has scooped up former President Donald Trump’s team that designed and implemented border changes.
The GOP’s go-to policy house named former acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf, former acting Deputy Homeland Security Secretary Ken Cuccinelli, and former acting Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Mark Morgan as fellows to its Davis Institute for National Security and Foreign Policy.
The trio begins on Monday.
“Heritage has assembled an all-star team with significant policy expertise on issues related to homeland security, immigration, and China,” Heritage Foundation President Kay Coles James said.
She added in a statement, “Heritage was already a leading voice to shape these policy issues. We’re now taking our work to the next level as we confront an emboldened Biden administration that seeks to undo many of the accomplishments of the past four years.”
All three men were key members of the former president’s crackdown on China and illegal immigration, and Cuccinelli and Morgan were the top spokesmen in the media explaining and promoting Trump’s policies, including the construction of the border wall. Wolf played a major role in working with Mexico and other countries to hold immigrants who had illegally crossed the border.
