Sean Spicer appeared on Fox and Friends to promote his appearance on Dancing with the Stars and show off his self-described “horrible” dance moves.
Spicer, 47, admitted to the hosts he was a “horrible dancer,” but was still looking forward to the opportunity. “It’s going to be really hard but it’s going to be really fun,” he said.
Spicer, who is now a spokesman for the American First Action PAC, also defended his upcoming appearance on the dancing show, saying he wanted it to be non-political.
“This should be two hours of politics-free. But more than that, and I hope what this show is at the end of the season is an example of people of a bunch of different backgrounds getting together, leaving politics aside, and having a good time in a civil and respectful way.”
Tom Bergeron, one of the hosts of the show, criticized the choice of a political figure after it was announced Wednesday that Spicer had been cast.

Bergeron, 64, said he wanted the show to “be a joyful respite from our exhausting political climate.”
Spicer is not the first Republican figure to appear on Dancing with the Stars. In 2016, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry was eliminated in the second round of competition.
