Trump’s remarks come less than 48 hours a pair of mass shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio left at least 29 people dead and dozens more injured in the two cities.
In an early morning tweet on Monday, Trump pledged his support for the victims of the two mass shootings and suggested Republicans and Democrats come together to work on meaningful gun reform.
