Anti-Trump protester climbs on top of police car and gets thrown off when cruiser speeds up

An anti-Trump protester was thrown off of a police cruiser when the driver sped up after the protester climbed on top of the roof.

Video footage shows a man climbing on top of a police vehicle during a Sacramento protest before the officer behind the wheel immediately knocked him off by speeding up the car.

“Our camera was rolling when anti- Trump protestors surrounded a CHP patrol car. One person climbed on the hood and the officer drove forward. Two people were injured…one was taken to hospital. The crowd had gathered to protest the President as he visited Sacramento,” NBC Bay Area reporter Jodi Hernandez tweeted.

“We’ve had all kind of Trump supporters coming through, running us over, hitting us with their cars,” an unnamed protester on the scene told the Sacramento Bee. “The police, trying to turn over into our protest, we surround the cars — we get near the cars asking them to leave. They won’t leave, and next thing you know, they’re starting to drive through the crowd.”

The protester was taken in an ambulance following the incident, and it’s unclear if he was seriously harmed.

The crowd of protesters was gathered outside McClellan Airport in Sacramento, where the president met with Gov. Gavin Newsom on Monday to discuss the raging wildfires in the state.

The two leaders met despite the protesters, with Trump calling Newsom a “good man” following the discussion.
