A dramatic scene played out in Waco, Texas, on Tuesday after a Little League Baseball player was hit in the head by an errant pitch.
Isaiah Jarvis of Tulsa, Oklahoma, was at the plate when a 0-2 pitch got away from Kaiden Shelton of Pearland, Texas, and drilled him in the side of the helmet. Jarvis immediately fell to the ground and clutched his head as the umpire and his coaches came to his aid. The incident happened during a Little League Southwest Regional Playoff final, with a trip to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, on the line.

Jarvis was well enough to take his base after the beaning, but the pitcher, Shelton, was visibly shaken by the incident. Shelton stood on the mound holding his head and staring at the ground in tears.
