Chicago restaurant condemns employee who spit on Eric Trump

Popular upscale Chicago cocktail lounge the Aviary has suspended an employee after she spit on President Trump’s son, Eric Trump, during his Tuesday night visit.

The employee, who has not been publicly identified, was taken into custody by the Secret Service and later released after he declined to press charges.

Eric described the act as “disgusting” and said, “For a party that preaches tolerance, this once again demonstrates they have very little civility. When somebody is sick enough to resort to spitting on someone, it just emphasizes a sickness and desperation and the fact that we’re winning.”

In an official statement released on Wednesday, the Aviary condemned their employee’s behavior, saying they don’t believe any customer should be spit on. They declined to comment on whether she would be fired and said, “We will not discuss internal HR matters beyond this statement.”

The statement condemned both “those calling for the demise of our business,” as well as those who “are praising [the spitting] as an act of civil disobedience.”

“We hope this incident can, at least, serve to illuminate the current absurdity of the discourse in our politics,” the statement concluded.
