After nine straight pars on the firont nine, Jeff Burda of Modesto, Calif. fired 4-under-par on the back at Clustered Spires Golf Course in Frederick to finish with a 68 and grab medalist honors in U.S. Senior Amateur qualifying Tuesday.
Locals Michael Kelly of Odenton (69) and Pat Tallent of Vienna (70) were the other qualifiers for the tournament, Oct. 2-7, at Lake Nona in Orlando. Tom Grady of Marshall (72) notched the first alternate.
