Train believed to be carrying Kim Jong Un leaves Beijing

The train believed to be carrying a senior North Korean delegation, including leader Kim Jong Un, left Beijing Tuesday following a surprise visit, Reuters reported.

Citing an unnamed senior intelligence official, a conservative South Korean newspaper said the delegation and Kim left China to return to North Korea.

A left-leaning South Korean media outlet reported, without citing sources, that while Kim was in Beijing for meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday, he was now headed to a “third location” Tuesday.

If Kim did make the trip, this would be his first time out of North Korea since taking power in 2011.

The unconfirmed visit comes ahead of a summit meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae In and President Trump.

Trump has recently said he would accept Kim Jong Un’s invitation to diplomatic talk regarding the denuclearization of the peninsula.
