Former President Barack Obama acknowledged the existence of UFOs days after a 60 Minutes special featured Navy pilots and their witness accounts with such objects.
“When it comes to aliens, there are some things I just can’t tell you on air,” Obama said during a Tuesday episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden, when asked if he had a theory about the origin of various unidentified flying objects seen over the years.
“Look, the truth is that when I came into office, I asked,” he continued. “I was like, ‘All right, is there the lab somewhere where we’re keeping the alien specimens and spaceships?’ They did a little bit of research …. and the answer was, ‘No.'”
‘THERE’S SOMETHING OUT THERE THAT WAS BETTER THAN OUR AIRPLANE’: UFO MYSTERY MAKES IT TO 60 MINUTES
“But what is true — and I’m actually being serious here — is that there’s footage and records of objects in the skies that we don’t know exactly what they are,” the former president said.
In Sunday’s 60 Minutes special, Navy pilots detailed their accounts of witnessing UFOs that appeared to be aircraft.
“So, as we’re looking at this, her backseater says, ‘Hey skipper, do you —.‘ And about that got out, I said, ‘Dude, do you see that thing down there?’ And we saw this little white Tic Tac-looking object, and it’s just kinda moving above the whitewater area,” Cmdr. Dave Fravor said, describing a 2004 experience. He described the movements of the object as being like those of a “ping pong ball — very, very random.”
Fravor added that when the object was right in front of him, it suddenly disappeared.
“I’m not a UFO guy,” he said. “Oh, there’s definitely something that — I don’t know who’s building it, who’s got the technology, who’s got the brains. But there’s something out there that was better than our airplane.”
Last year, a video shot in 2004 and two shot in 2015 that all appear to show UFOs flying at high speeds were released by the navy. The videos also showed the UFOs performing impressive aerial maneuvers.

Some lawmakers have begun raising alarm bells about the sightings. In January, the Senate Intelligence Committee gave the Biden administration six months to release a report on what it knows about UFOs.
“We can’t explain how they moved, their trajectory. … They did not have an easily explainable pattern,” Obama said of the object sightings, adding, “So I think that people still take seriously trying to investigate and figure out what that is. But I have nothing to report to you today.”
